Introduction
My name is Richard Schoen. I live in Minneapolis, MN.

This blog site is an opportunity for me to publish my thoughts on the state of the software industry and things in general. I am president of RJS Software Systems Inc. My company publishes document imaging, report and data delivery and workflow/BPM software to save companies time and money and provide maximum ROI.

Background
I began my career developing code on the System/36 back in 1984 using RPG II. I was one of the first software developers to develop on the AS/400 when it was released in 1988. I was also an early adopter of Microsoft Windows Development when Windows 3.1 and Visual Basic 3.0 was released in 1994.

Since 1990 when I started RJS Software Systems Inc. I have been involved in the development and marketing of commercial software for document imaging, report and data delivery and workflow/BPM. I continue to be instrumental in building products to save companies time and money.

My development team currently develops using ILE RPG, CL, C and Java on the iSeries. For Windows and Cross Platform development we use a mix of VB, VB.Net, C#, Java ,PHP and more….

Interests
